Description
EMC is a single-phase slave controller designed to operate through the Modbus RTU protocol only so that the master controller can manage all the operating parameters in real time, both reading and writing. Ideal for control of single-phase fans in HVAC/R systems, it provides an accurate, efficient speed control system.
The control is through phase-cut control balanced with the main supply, applying the value set with an acceleration and deceleration ramp set at 6 seconds. This guarantees smooth transitions and protects the motor from sudden stresses.
The controller has three inputs for TK heat contacts that allow the fan unit protections to be directly monitored, and the status can be read using Modbus. If there is no communication for a time period longer than the default timeout, EMC will automatically activate an emergency speed that can be set using a dip switch to ensure operational continuity.
The isolated Modbus RTU RS485 interface has communication parameters that can be configured. If requested when ordering, the controller can be connected to an optional remote display for the local management of the parameters and to view the operating status.
Housed in an IP55 technopolymer container that is resistant to dust, humidity and high temperatures, EMC was designed to be used in challenging environments. Thanks to complete integration with Modbus, it is a reliable solution for the automated control of speed in single-phase fans.
Inputs, outputs and connectivity
- Isolated Modbus RTU RS485 interface with communication parameters that can be configured.
- Motor outputs: Connection of up to 3 fans for total maximum absorption of 10A, phase cutting and integrated TK reading
Special features
- The device has an integrated switch which transforms it into a compact, independent electric control panel so that no external components are needed to install the system
