Description
ECD is a compact, multifunctional digital integrated panel designed for the intelligent control of electronic switching motors in HVAC/R systems like dry coolers, remote condensers and fan-grids. Available in 25 A or 32 A versions, it can easily be adapted to both single-phase and three-phase configurations, simplifying the planning and unification of the power panels.
The controller operates in master mode only and is optimized for proportional, continuous commands and management of Copeland Digital Scroll systems. The output 0-10 Vdc signal, protected against short circuits, guarantees the smooth control of fan speed, improving the energy efficiency of the system.
ECD is sized for the direct command of up to 6 electronic switching motors, with integrated reading of the TK contacts for the monitoring of the thermal protections. Available with 2 analog inputs for 4-20 mA signals, with automatic selection of the highest value and an input that can only read the NTC 10 kΩ @ 25°C probe.
Operational flexibility and customization:
The device allows 2 independent setpoints to be used along with 2 parameter sets that can be chosen through the on-off contact allowing adjustments to reflect the season or function of the system. The advanced functions include supporting dynamic speed limits, winter control that can be started up by the NTC and direct or reverse mode for applications with heat pumps.
6 auxiliary, programmable, on-off contacts are available, which can be assigned to functions like remote stops, maximum nighttime limits, reverse function/heat pump or setpoint changes for the flexible management of the operating rules. The equipment also features 2 configurable relays that can be used for alarms or auxiliary functions.
Diagnostics and connectivity:
ECD can be integrated into BMS systems through the Modbus RTU slave interface that can be started up with an optional plug which means it can be monitored remotely with centralized control of the operating parameters.
The technopolymer casing with IP55 protectionand construction compliant with the UL-94 V0 regulation allows it to be used in external or challenging environments, ensuring stability, safety and durability.
Inputs, outputs and connectivity
- 2 analog inputs for 4-20mA transducers with automatic selection of the highest value.
- Supplementary NTC input to start up special functions.
- Optional Modbus RTU interface to connect with BMS systems.
- 1 0-10Vdc output for direct command of the electronic switching fans.
- 6 separate motor outputs for electronic switching motor direct power supply.
- 6 auxiliary on/off contacts that can be programmed for operating functions (reverse mode, Start/Stop, nighttime limits, setpoint change, TK control).
- 2 configurable relays to manage the alarms and auxiliary devices.
Special features
- Smooth, dynamic control to keep the system pressure or temperature stable, reducing energy consumption and improving the duration of the system.
- The device offers 2 control setpoints that can be set to the minimum or maximum limit with the option of configuring 2 parameter sets that can be customized to include nighttime limits, speed jumps, maximum and minimum speeds, acceleration ramps and other operating parameters to manage the various requirements on a flexible, adaptable basis.
- The device has an integrated switch that transforms it into a compact, independent electric integrated panel so that no external components are needed to install the system.
- Additional optional plug for isolated Modbus connection from BMS or remote Master
- Thanks to the patented Modulo system which converts the analog 0-10Vdc signal in the selected Modbus protocol, ECD supports the Modbus digital operation with intrinsic safety, ensuring continued operation if the electronic switching motors malfunction.
