Description
ECN is a compact, digital controller designed for the proportional control or PID of single-phase and three-phase electronic switching motors in HVAC/R and industrial applications like dry coolers, remote condensers and decentralized ventilating systems. Its straightforward, compact architecture makes it ideal for systems that require efficient, reliable control and easy integration.
Direct power comes from electronic switching fans at 20 Vdc (±10%) or an external 24 Vac transformer (±15%) offering greater energy source flexibility. Commands to the fans are carried out through an analog 0-10 Vdc output, protected against short circuits, that can drive up to 30 electronic switching motors with impedance ≥100 kΩ.
The controller has two analog inputs that can be selected automatically according to the highest value: one for 4-20 mA signals (e.g. pressure transducers) and one for the NTC probe 10 kΩ @ 25 °C (with a scale of 5 / 65 °C). You can use two signals of the same type or combine them, adjusting the behavior in accordance with the applicable variable available. ECN operates in proportional or PID mode, direct or reverse, to select using a DIP switch.
If you choose the analog output configuration of 0.75-10 Vdc, you can start up the “Cable Break” function of the electronic switching fans. If the command signal is lost, the electronic switching fans will automatically activate the emergency speed to guarantee no down time even if the sensor malfunctions.
The configuration is user-friendly thanks to the two 13-position switches for the setpoint and the end control, and a set of DIP switches for the operation options. Four diagnostic LEDs signal the power status, configuration errors, disconnection or short circuits of the signal, and identify the position of the value read with respect to the setpoint.
Available in the IP00 version for DIN driving or in an IP65 container for outside installations.
