Description
ECB is a compact, configurable digital controller, designed for the proportional control or PI of single-phase and three-phase electronic switching motors in HVAC/R systems like remote condensers, dry coolers and high-performing cooling units. Supports 24 Vac/Vdc, 230 Vac or 400 Vac (±10%) power, with automatic selection of the 50/60 Hz frequency.
The two independent analog outputs, one for voltage signals (0-10 Vdc) and one for current signals (4-20 mA) mean that up to 30 electronic switching motors per output can be subject to direct command making operation highly flexible, even on extensive systems. The outputs are protected against short-circuiting, ensuring operational safety.
The controller features two programmable analogue inputs, compatible with 4–20 mA, 0–10 Vdc, 0–5 Vdc signals or NTC probes (10 kΩ @ 25 °C, 10 / 60 °C range) in master mode. In slave mode, ECB accepts 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA and 0–10 Vdc analogue signals. In both cases, the two inputs operate in parallel with automatic selection of the higher value.
You can set the control in direct or reverse proportional mode or enable the PI algorithm for advanced control of the ambient parameters. Thanks also to an optional plug, you can enable a second setpoint that can be selected through the on-off input to adjust the behavior of the system with two separate operating levels.
ECB provides four programmable digital inputs that can be configured for remote Start/Stop, setpoint change, night time limits, reverse function or forcing the maximum speed. It also has an alarm relay that can be used to report malfunctions.
The LED display means that the status of the system, power supply and active alarms can be immediately checked. ECB is available in the IP55 version for external assembly or the IP00 version for DIN assembly.
Inputs, outputs and connectivity
- Analog inputs: 2 configurable 0-20 mA / 4-20 mA / 0-10 Vdc / 0-5 Vdc / NTC (10 kΩ @ 25 °C, 10 / 60 °C) inputs
- On-off digital inputs: 4 programmable inputs for Start/Stop, setpoint change, night time limits, forced speed or reverse function
- Proportional outputs: 2 independent 0-10 Vdc or 4-20 mA outputs (max 30 motors per output, protected)
- Relay: 1 relay per alarm (changeover contact)
Special features
- Adaptive, accurate control to ensure that the operating parameters remain within the defined setpoint, including with significant load variations.
- The device has 1 setpoint (*second setpoint optional) for control with the option to configure customizable parameters, including nighttime limits, fixed speed and maximum and minimum speed.
- Plug to integrate second setpoint
- When enabled, the Fixed speed function has absolute priority over the control logic and forces the output to a predefined speed value. This ensures the motors keep running even in the event of measurement errors or out-of-range sensor readings, providing operational continuity under fault conditions.
